The Strait Link Burnie 10 course starts on Wilson St just north of the intersection of Wilson and Cattley Streets, outside Intersport Burnie and proceeds south along Wilson Street to where it meets the Bass Highway. The course then heads east to a turning point at the5km mark. The course returns west along the Bass Highway until it intersects Wilson Street and turns right for the final 550 metre dash to the finish line. The Kid’s 800m Dash will start and end under the arch on Wilson Street. Kid’s will run 400m down Wilson Street and back. The Elphinstone Group 5km course begins identically to the Strait Link Burnie 10 and turns at the River Road junction with the Bass Highway, 2.5km from the start.
It is vital you ensure that you are properly hydrated before attempting to participate in strenuous activities. There are 3 drink stations located on our course. Stations are situated at the 2.5km, 5km and 7.5km marks and bottled water is available at the finish line exit chute.
The Strait Link Burnie 10 has toilets located at the 4km and 6km marks on the course. There are also toilets located in the Multi-Storey Car Park, Marine Terrace and at the Burnie Surf Club. Portable toilets will be situated at the Northern end of Wilson Street.
Bib collection will be held at SportsPower Burnie - 3/40 Mount Street, Burnie.

The following prizes will be awarded to teams, in the school and social/corporate categories:

- The best team name
There is a 2 hour time limit for the 10km.
Participation is one of the key attributes of the Strait Link Burnie Ten.
Due to the need to return our course to highway traffic within 2 hours, it is imperative we consider any competitors that may be outside our time limit.
The Strait Link Burnie Ten will accommodate all participants competing in all events.
Any participant that is likely to exceed the 2 hour limit, will be provided with alternative options to ensure they can still participate fully & complete as many kilometres (up to 10) that they would like.
Participants will be guided on course & given every encouragement to complete their preferred distance.
Prize Money is still to be finalised for 2025, however will be at least the same as what was offered in 2024 (displayed below). It will be equally awarded to men and women in the Burnie 10km:
1st - $3000
2nd - $1500
3rd - $1000
4th - $500
5th - $250
The first Tasmanian to cross the finish line will receive $500
The first participant to reach the 5km mark will receive $500. Please note the participant must finish the race and pacers are not eligible.
A participant who breaks the 10km Course Record will be awarded an extra $3000. The current Course Records are 27:43 for the men held by Jack Rayner and 31:39 for the women held by Leanne Pompeani.
Prize Money will be equally awarded to men and women in the Elphinstone Group 5km:
1st - $250
2nd - $150
3rd - $100
All participants in the 10km and 5km events will be awarded with a commemorative finisher's medallion
